Help with widgets, search engines, @ shortcuts and your privacy settings.
Email Wnstn supportAdd a Home Screen widget
Touch and hold your Home Screen, open the widget gallery and search for Wnstn. Choose a small or medium widget. Touch and hold the widget and choose Edit Widget to select its search engine. The destination widget opens Wnstn with YouTube, Spotify or Apple Maps already selected.
Search in Safari or another browser
Wnstn opens web searches in your default browser. Choose Safari in your iPhone's default browser settings if you want results there. Change the search engine in Wnstn Settings, or edit the widget's engine.
Use an @ shortcut
Type @ to see three recent or suggested destinations. Keep typing to narrow the list, or enter a shortcut such as @yt for YouTube, @sp for Spotify or @maps for Apple Maps, followed by a space and your search.
An app opens in the browser
Install the destination app and try again. iOS, the destination service and your device settings determine whether a search link opens its app or website. Wnstn cannot force every service to open a native app.
Search suggestions are missing
Check Search suggestions in Wnstn Settings and your internet connection. Suggestions come from your selected search engine, which may temporarily stop responding. You can still submit a search without suggestions.
Manage or delete search history
Open Settings, then Search history, to review or clear saved searches. Turn off Save recent searches to clear Wnstn's saved queries and stop saving new ones. Choose Keep history for to retain queries for one month, one year or indefinitely. This does not clear browser or destination-service history.
iCloud sync isn't updating
Check that your devices use the same Apple Account and that iCloud is available. Turn on Sync with iCloud in Wnstn Settings on each device. If iCloud cannot start, Wnstn keeps history locally. Changes and deletions can take time to reach other devices.
Change the theme
Open Wnstn Settings, then Themes, and select Regular or Wnstn 95. Open the app after changing themes so its widgets can refresh. iOS controls the timing of widget updates.
Create a custom search tag
Open Settings, then Custom tags. Add a name, an available alias and the destination's search URL template. Only use websites you trust; searches sent through a custom tag go to that website.
Report a problem
Email ramish@seemango.com with your app version, iPhone model, iOS version and steps to reproduce the problem. Remove private searches and personal information from screenshots. Never send passwords or Apple Account details.
